Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 29, 2026
CouponHive (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an editorial-first savings publication operated as a static website. This Privacy Policy explains what limited information we collect from visitors, how that information is used, what third parties are involved when you click an affiliate link, and what rights you have under United States and European privacy law.
The short version: CouponHive does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, postal address, or payment information. We use a privacy-respecting analytics setup to understand which pages get read, and we use affiliate-link tracking so retailers can attribute purchases to us. That's it.
Information we collect
The information we collect from you is limited to what is necessary to operate the site and measure its performance.
- Analytics data. When you visit a page on CouponHive, our analytics provider records standard request information: the URL of the page viewed, the URL of the page that referred you (if any), the type of device and browser you used, your approximate geographic region (typically city or metro level, derived from your IP address), and the timestamp of the visit. This data is aggregated and used to understand which articles, store pages, and category guides are useful to readers. We do not collect a persistent user identifier, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.
- Affiliate-link click tracking. When you click an outbound link to a retailer, that click is recorded by the affiliate network operating the link (CJ Affiliate, Rakuten Advertising, Awin, Impact, ShareASale, or a retailer's in-house program). The network sets a tracking cookie or similar identifier on your browser so that, if you complete a qualifying purchase at the retailer, the network can attribute the sale to CouponHive and credit us with a commission. The information shared with the affiliate network is the click event itself; it does not include any personal information you have provided to CouponHive, because we don't collect any.
- Cookies. CouponHive uses first-party analytics cookies (or cookieless equivalents, depending on your jurisdiction) to operate the analytics described above. Third-party affiliate networks set their own cookies when you click an outbound link. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, run retargeting, or sell data to third parties.
- Newsletter. Our newsletter signup form is currently a placeholder. We do not yet operate a newsletter, and any email address submitted to a placeholder form is discarded without being stored.
- Reader correspondence. If you write to us at one of the editorial inboxes (editorial@, partners@, press@, hello@, privacy@, or legal@couponhive.com), we will retain your message and our reply for as long as is necessary to handle your inquiry and any reasonable follow-up.
What we don't collect
To be explicit: CouponHive does not collect your name, your email address (outside of correspondence you initiate), your postal address, your phone number, your date of birth, your payment-card information, your retailer login credentials, your purchase history, or any other personally identifying information. We do not have a user database, because we do not have user accounts.
How we use information
- To operate the website and serve pages you request
- To measure aggregate traffic and understand which editorial coverage is useful
- To diagnose performance issues and security incidents
- To allow retailers and affiliate networks to attribute commissionable purchases
- To respond to correspondence you initiate with us
Third-party services
CouponHive relies on a small number of third parties to operate. Each of these processes some data on our behalf and is governed by its own privacy policy:
- Our hosting and CDN provider, which receives standard request information for every page load
- Our analytics provider, which receives the aggregate visit data described above
- Affiliate networks (CJ, Rakuten, Awin, Impact, ShareASale, and direct retailer programs), which receive click events when you follow an outbound link
Cookie controls
You can clear, block, or restrict cookies at any time using your browser's privacy settings. Most browsers also offer a “Do Not Track” signal and similar privacy controls; we honor recognized opt-out signals where applicable law requires us to.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may give you specific rights regarding personal information held about you:
- California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we have about you, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. CouponHive does not sell personal information.
- European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR/UK GDPR). You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection regarding personal data we hold about you, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
- Other US states. Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others as enacted) have rights similar to those listed above. We honor verifiable requests under the applicable state law.
To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@couponhive.com from the email address associated with the request. Because we do not maintain user accounts, in practice most rights requests resolve quickly: there is typically nothing on file to retrieve, correct, or delete.
Data retention
Aggregate analytics data is retained for up to 26 months. Reader correspondence is retained for up to 24 months from last activity, then deleted. Affiliate networks retain click data according to their own policies, which we do not control.
Children's privacy
CouponHive is intended for adult shoppers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13, and the site is not directed at children. If you believe a child has somehow provided information through CouponHive, please contact privacy@couponhive.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy in any material way, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of the page and, where appropriate, post a notice on the site. Continued use of CouponHive after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
